Introducing the Youngpreneur Podcast – Creating opportunity for young people
Do you have a really cool idea for a business? What’s stopping you from giving it a shot?
Starting a business and becoming an entrepreneur while we’re young is an incredible opportunity. A rare time in our lives when we can give stuff a go while we have the flexibility and room to fail fast and learn.
“It’s ok to fail, take what you’ve learned and then try again. Because failing while you’re young is the best time to do it.”
Hosted by Adam Spencer, the Youngpreneurs Podcast shares the experiences of other young people just like you, who took a shot and built incredible businesses. Maybe they aren’t millionaires yet, but entrepreneurship isn’t just about Startups, Scaleups, Seed Rounds and Big Exits.
It’s about learning new skills that you can’t learn anywhere else, it’s about creating an opportunity for yourself and it’s about having a go and taking control of your future.
The Youngpreneurs Podcast is brought to you by Hunter Futurepreneurs.
The Hunter Futurepreneurs program is an initiative of the Commonwealth government and free to eligible participants. The program has been designed to inspire, educate, mentor and connect future entrepreneurs to start or build a sustainable business.

Lara:
Entrepreneurship is in my blood. Generations back, everyone’s had their own business.
Taj:
I was probably not the best kid through school. I had about four suspensions by grade six.
I realised from a young age that I needed to have a career outside of the classroom. I was bored in the classroom. I didn’t enjoy what I was learning.
Lara:
I think in my personal experience being an entrepreneur and starting my own business has given me so many different experiences and things that I have learnt from the business that is incomparable to anything that my friends have experienced in their own part-time jobs.
Erin:
My book was growing like that, three months, full books. And that was just like, and it made me feel good again because it was like, “You are good at what you do, people want to train with you, they get results.”
Jack:
We wanted to push the boundaries. We wanted to question normal.
Adam:

Cheryl:
There is a lot of support out there for young people and entrepreneurship, and our role is to show them where that support is. So I think that’s a really important thing as well, because the people don’t know where to go. They don’t know where to get information. And now that there are … there were only three of us originally, now there’s 23 entrepreneurship facilitators. So yeah. So that means that there’s 23 people out there in all different, especially regional areas, who are there to help and support people who want to start up their own business and entrepreneurs who have an idea that they wish to explore.
Adam:
